Default Does anyone commute from Havre de Grace to Baltimore???

Hello
I was wondering if anyone has any experience with commuting from Havre de Grace to southern Baltimore (BWI). My wife has been commuting the opposite direction for two years now and thinks it's my turn to do the commute. She is heading in the opposite direction of traffic (I believe) and it takes her an average of 50 minutes. Please help me before I make a commiment that I can't keep.

Hi there, yes you will be going with traffic. However, they are currently building a lot of new exits and roads near the 695 exit right after White Marsh. This should significantly improve traffic flow and therefore your commute soon. I would say it should take 50 minutes, maybe 60 now. Good Luck!

An hour sounds about right, but I don't think traffic flow will improve significantly with the latest roadwork projects on I-95. And in a few years, it'll be just as congested as it is now. Sorry to be a downer, but that's the gamble you take when you have a long drive for a commute.

Maybe an hour with no traffic. But if you're going to use I-95 south from Havre de Grace to BWI at the height of rush hour, be prepared for a lot longer commute. I wouldn't be surprised if it sometimes takes twice that amount of time.

The construction work around White Marsh to downtown is to add Express Toll lanes.

My husband did this for about 6 months. HdG to Laurel. Took him about 45 mins in the morning (he had to be on the job site by 6am, so left the house about 5am). Coming home was a different story. Even leaving for home by 2:30, it look him about 60-70 minutes to get home.

FWIW, I always leave an hour to get to BWI but usually make it in 45.

Thumbs up Use Marc

there would be an option of driving to Aberdeen

and commuting in on MARC
might be easier for you?

Maryland Transit Administration

the last stop of the Line is in Perryville, or you could get MARC from Aberdeen

both are right next door to Havre De Grace

will cut down on stress, and gas costs
