Does anyone know how I can find the name of a listing agent on a property that was recently sold? A couple of properties in my neighborhood sold recently and I would like to potentially hire the selling agent that listed them. All I have is the addresses, prices and dates sold... Thanks for any info. or resources anyone has out there!

My first thought is to ask the people who bought the house. But if that feels weird to you, then redfin.com tends to have that kind of info for recent sales. Also, have you tried simply googling the address? Often an old listing will pop up.

You may also try Realtordotcom. The basic search on their home page allows you to search for "recently sold" by zip code. Some of the "solds" in my area go back to September of last year.

Google the address. Realtors are notoriously slow (if ever) in removing their listings. I once googled myself and found my own house listing from 6 years earlier.

Actually, Realtors have strict rules to follow regarding the handling of listings, and SOLD property has to updated within 2 business days of closing or may face fines for each day that the listing goes unchanged after closing. This does not REMOVE the listing from the database, but simply takes it out of the ACTIVE category. Since MLS feeds MANY 3rd party websites (such as realtor.com and other local & national databases) that listing could stay available on those sites for quite some time. The listing agent has absolutely NO control over this.

JenniferAnn, the best source for this info is going to be a licensed agent who has access to the MLS for the most accurate information. If you send me the addresses in a private message, I'll get you the information and send it back to you.
