I'm mainly interested in these: (but would love to hear about other areas too)

Brookline - compact, affluent, Jewish
Brighton - crowded, collegiate, cheaper
Newton - expensive, families, yuppies
Medford - convenient, dense, Tufts
Melrose - suburban, green, friendly
Waltham - JV Newton, industrial, Bentley
Cambridge - liberal, intellectual, artsy
Peabody - Italian, old, steakhouses
Back Bay - cafes, gays, trendy
Alrington - charming, old, traditional
Saugus - sprawl, suburban, middle class
Concord - quiet, quaint, snooty

BTW, i am planning on renting in Newton or Waltham :-) though I am also looking at other places, avoiding Brighton and Cambridge... been out of grad school 8 yrs ago :-)

I vote Arlington which is so called Normal, or JP maybe? Maybe Bedford would be OK! JP also is near the T and if on the pondside or elsewhere so neat!

Brookline- overacheiving, socially inept, embracing their homliness.(that was a haiku)
Brighton-off the boat house painters from Cork, Keg Stands til 4AM Monday night.(so was that)
Newton-Close your mouth when you think sir, and when you pick your nose in traffic, and when you shop for groceries and when...
Medford-bedroom community of Somerville.
Melrose-(Someone I really dont like lives in Melrose and she yells a lot)
Waltham- Where the boys from Weston go to get laid, pissing Calvin stickers, Empanadas on every stove
Cambridge- We get it. It was Bush's fault
Peabody-A lot (and I mean A LOT) of house cleaners live here.
Back Bay-it has no windows and it can only fit a twin size futon..but technically its Back Bay and its only $2000.
Alrington-Scared to raise the kids in Cambridge, not rich enough to do it Lexington
Saugus- Ohh, sweetheart..come here, I wanna friggin' marry you...what salon do you work at?
Concord-A Prius in every driveway and a Tahoe hidden in the garage.

I think that was three words for every town but I may have miscounted.

Hmm, what a fun game! What if you were looking for a place that was Jewish, cheaper, families, yuppies, convenient, green, friendly, liberal, intellectual, artsy, cafes, gays, trendy, AND charming?
