I am looking to have a photo session done outdoors -- any suggestions on pretty parks, fields, botanical gardens, etc. in the Worcester / MetroWest / Blackstone Valley area? Children will be included so I would like it to be kid-friendly/kid-safe.

Thank you for your help!

Elm Park, in Worcester, is listed as the first public park in the country. Lots of wedding photos taken there. Harrington Farm in Princeton is very pretty. Wayside Inn and the Old Grist Mill at the Marlborough/Sudbury line is pretty in a New England colonial way. Any of the tourist areas along the Blackston Canal are nice-- you can check out the Blackstone Historical Corridor website for more info. Garden in the Woods in Framingham. The list is endless. It just all depends on what exactly you are looking for in the setting.

Agreed.

Moore State Park in Paxton is a good one too.

Tower Hill in Boylston. Great views of the Wachusett Reservoir from the patio of the on-site restaurant, plus the grounds at Tower Hill are beautiful.

Elm Park? No way...not only is Tower Hill more attractive and has a lot more grounds and scenery to choose from, but I doubt you'll encounter scenes such as this recent one from Elm Park...Worcester Telegram & Gazette - telegram.com - Spectacle in the park

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Elm Park is quite lovely and has a unique history which counts for something in New England.
