Our State schools are usually State Funded while Private schools, colleges, and Universities are independent of the State. People that have permanent residency in that particular state usually get a discount within the college system.
An AA degree is an Associates Degree: 2 year (usually just a stepping stone).
With that degree you can easily transfer into a 4 year degree program at many schools. A BA= Bachelor of Arts Degree; BS = Bachelor of Science Degree. Same degree; different studies and subject matter.
Given your limited time, I still think you should pursue a certificate or adult eduction classes. I think a degree here is gong to be too much time and work. Unless you enter an Associates program that has classes at night or even weekends??
