I would add Hopkinton and some of those surrounding towns back in the fold - if you can find available rental housing at that price range which may be tricky. I thought they were good suggestions for proximity to both jobs, with very strong school systems - many of them stronger than Natick. There are alternate routes to get to Natick as well without hitting Boston traffic - I would not rule those towns out without doing a test run yourself.
My job may be relocating me to the NE area for a project that is estimated to run until mid-2017. We have never lived in the NE before, originally from SoCal and we currently live in Houston, TX. My project scope will run between CT and MA, so we are looking at possible locations for our family to relocate in both regions.
We have 2 young children, K-5 ages and will want excellent school districts to place them in. I found this thread while doing my homework and figured I'd post here. I have been looking for any rental properties since the project scope is around 3-4 years and I am not sure I would want to buy right a way, but I am having problems locating a single family rental home. Budget for the rental home would be around $3500/mo or so, we could go more for the right house, neighborhood, school district, etc... I am just looking for some guidance on where to focus our search on. My wife works remote and only needs to have decent access to the airport from time to time, nothing critical, but hopefully no longer than an hour away from the airport (assuming no rush hour traffic). House wise, we would be looking for a 4bdr/2-3ba and a 2-3 car garage.
We would love to be closer to town, but from what I've read on here the public schools inside of Boston are questionable. I looked at Lexington, but nothing for rent even near our price range. If anyone has any information that may help us out, I would greatly appreciate the assistance.

First, I think it would be helpful if you could let people know where in CT and where in MA your work sites are.
Second, I think more people would notice your question if you started a new thread.
I didn't want to post a new thread if this thread is capable of providing helpful information. Normal forum etiquette would prefer you to use a thread of similar information to keep from flooding the forum with repetitive questions. We'll see. If I can't get any replies, I can very easily start a new thread. Thanks.

The best option between Hartford and Boston would be on the Mass Pike corridor between Sturbridge and Westboro. It would depend how often he is traveling to each city. Any of the boroughs, particularly Westboro would seem ideal because he can actually take the train into Boston. These areas would be the best compared with The Woodlands, Katy, etc., in terms of school quality. Yes, you would be best off to start a new thread, though.
