We just moved here from southern California, and Ive only encountered one disgruntled employee at the base exchange. Otherwise, all is well. A big adjustment, but thats to be expected.
Any website, center, etc. you can recommend besides monster.com, etc.? My degree is in Criminal Justice, and Id like to get into some type of human services/advocacy. However, I am open. I just get sick at the thought of being couped up in a cubicle all day...Im much to energetic.
Have you tried contacting a recruiter? I just found a job through a small 1-woman recruiting firm that specialized in my field. I found the offer to be similar in compensation to another offer I got through emailing their HR department directly w/a cover letter and resume. That's actually how I got most of my interviews -- I came up with a list of about 20 firms I wanted to work for and emailed all of their HR departments. I actually got interviews w/about 5 of them that way.
WELCOME! My former job was at the Greater New Bedford Career Center, 618 Acushnet Avenue, New Bedford, MA 02740. They have hot jobs lists and if you agree to a Career Center Seminar, you will learn of what they offer, all free to you. Ask to sit with a "Job Specialist" and utilize their skills. They have information on local jobs. Also, you can learn of other websites, like Mass.Gov, that will show you STATE JOBS, and Agencies like Dept. of Revenue look for legal help sometimes seeking deadbeat parents for child support. Also, go to the local Chamber of Commerce downtown Purchase St. and get a list of the area businessess and start knocking on doors. There is also a "Legal Job Website" online in Mass. Look for it. Also Local Court information on line for job openings. Good Luck
Have you tried Dice.com, clearancejobs.com and careerbuilder.com?? There is a lot of industry in the area of Bedford/Lexington, but it really depends on what you want.
