I walk in a different area daily and I'm noticing a big increase in
For sale signs.

One street had three new signs since yesterday.
Sellers don't want to miss the uptick!
North shore area.
Have you noticed this in your area?

I'm casually looking up north and notice a lot of nice homes in various price ranges are coming up on my real estate site alerts.

In my area NW of Boston, there was a flurry of homes for sale in March and April, but not so many so far coming new to the market in May. It has been a little cold and dreary. Just today, lilacs are in bloom and the slow to leaf trees are finally filling out, so perhaps sellers have been waiting for that.

We've been seeing more listings over the last month, but supply is still far lower than demand around here. Most houses still sell in the first weekend and get multiple offers.

Seems like many signs I've seen in both towns show "sale pending".

Didn't see any for sale on our 3 mile walk around town today, which I can't remember happening before. I would say inventory is low in Westwood.

The Boston metro area has shrinking inventory. Now I can't say specific prices but any time you take away inventory it becomes harder to find housing.

Right now Boston has about half as much as what it had in 2006
Asking Prices and Inventory for Homes in Boston Massachusetts | Department of Numbers

There is always a seasonal trend due to the weather so at this time you will see more on the market.

Nosy is a good thing .

I almost went up to Salem/Marblehead/Swampscott myself today. I did notice a plethora of open houses up there on the real estate sites.

My range lower range, I surmise Marblehead has many multifamily condo converts that are older and occasional older house, same price Swampscott would be small well maintained Cape with character with right sized yard for a single woman, Salem single family homes of various conditions and nice and not-so-nicely kept up streets and some very nicely laid out townhomes.

This agent said more houses are coming 'on the market' daily.
