Can't speak for the I 93/128, but both the I 90/128 and I 90/I 495 interchanges are HUGE bottlenecks.

Will it ever change? Probably not. Massachusetts is clearly not interested in joining the 21st century, and its residents have a strong tendency in accepting mediocrity regardless of how much they are getting ripped off for it. I know what the OP means by the beltway in VA, I just drove through there a few months ago. If they can pay for it, why can't we? Are their taxes higher? Something tells me no.

And the answer isn't to expand on the MBTA and commuter rail system. Companies have to put offices in other locales like Lowell, Lawrence, Worcester and Springfield.
No it isn't. If a company is located in Boston everyone can commute there. If a company moves to Lowell suddenly everyone on the South Shore would have to move. Also, companies won't just move out of Boston because the State tells them to.

What's wrong with companies having satellite offices scattered in other MA cities? Maybe those other cities will give them incentives for doing so. Or not, as the real estate in those cities are greatly cheaper than in Boston.

Basically, telecommuting doesn't work for most, since there are too many distractions working at home. Working in an office building keeps the workers more production and professional acting.

Nothing wrong with it, but companies like the critical mass of cities. If cost were the only factor no one would put their headquarters in Manhattan.

Also, if you're going to move to a slightly lower COL area why not just move to a low COL state with business friendly laws?

Yeah, but if they're doing one they might do the other.

I just don't know what's so attractive about ma anymore then? Crowded, sky high real estate, traffic everywhere you go. Good hospitals and schools and the ocean are pretty amazing I guess.

And traffic will always be clogged because the Boston streets can only absorb so many cars at a time as the drivers head to their office buildings and their parking spaces. So all that money would spent and still the traffic will be backed up during rush hours, which is now most of the day.

Exactly. Virginia benefits from huge amounts of federal dollars flowing in from the Pentagon and other sources. And we know the people on Capitol Hill will not be inconvenienced.
