My town is allowing a cultivation facility, while also proposing a ban on medical or rec dispensaries. It's pure NIMBYism and I hope the state doles out tax dollars in a manner which benefits the towns embracing legalization.

My town banned everything, medical, cultivation and recreational. NIMBY was the attitude at Town meeting

Belmont's allowing it. Surprised, but thankful.

Belmont is quickly becoming West Cambridge.

Anyway I know Waltham is allowing it. Ditto with Somerville and Cambridge.

Boston is the big one.

Doesn't really matter that a bunch of small towns decided not to presently participate. The majority of them will change their minds within a few years.

Dont think so.
Over 70% of Colorado communities have banned local POT businesses and they are not changing their minds. There have been a couple of attempts to overturn the local Bans, all but one have failed. The one CO community that overturned the ban was a city in Co. that would make Brockton look like an upper crust community in comparison.

Once all the marijuana-related home invasions,POT stores getting robbed, neighbor-fighting-neighbor over POT odor, crime spikes in Massachusetts communities that approved POT businesses start repeating on the nightly news channels, people in Massachusetts communities that voted to Ban local POT stores will realize they were wise people to ban the junk.

(1) Legalize consumption, possession, and home cultivation

(2) Ban the regulated, taxable market.

Sounds like the perfect recipe for bolstering a black market!

How about this:
"May 2, 2018
San Francisco Chronicle
"Marijuana mayhem: 6th home robbed in Sonoma County since February""..
"...the recent legalization of cannabis for California adults 21 and over is directly contributing to the recent spate of home invasions.."
"...word has gotten out that marijuana in California is abundant and it’s easy to get..."
"In February, four men and a woman allegedly broke in to two houses in Santa Rosa in search of marijuana. The suspects are accused of killing a man"
