It has to be "We Buy Ugly Houses."

Never heard of this company until just a few years ago when their annoying and unattractive billboards were erected in the region. But it seems they're here to stay, with continued billboard presence as well as actual real estate offices. They even have these large and bright LED electronic billboards. Are they a national company and nuisance or born and bred New England?

Ugly red, black and yellow color scheme...and that neanderthal icon.

I know, I know, very petty, and just don't look if offended...

But they're a blight on the region along with most billboards.

They are a national franchise with about 900 locations per their website.

Generally I don't mind billboards as long as there's no animation.

Now if it's that cars for kids radio commercial that's something different....

I will say that Massachusetts does a great job not polluting the landscape with too many billboards like you see in the south.

When I clicked on this thread, the "We buy ugly houses" one was the one I was thinking of as well. I see those signs stapled to telephone poles and stuck on stakes on traffic islands everywhere.

Don't mind billboards? Hmmm....maybe that's not as unique as I thought.

Does Vermont still ban them?

I actually enjoy advertisements as I flip through a newspaper or magazine...one can learn about local events, new food products, etc.

And I actually like the new massive LED screen at TD Garden coming in from Somerville. It's bright, and distracting only if you let it... some good event info and local Dunkin' Donuts and Shaw's ads, etc. But I assume most hate it, especially if it's flashing late at night marring their view from hi-rise apartments in Cambridge or elsewhere. At 2 a.m. or so, most of the screen is shrunk and dimmed into a black and white photo of the inside of the arena with a half hockey ice rink, half basketball court image. Better than the ugly and unlighted jumbo Budweiser ad affixed for years.

Haven't seen them in those spots...even more reason to hate them.

I rip them down or if I can't reach, I call the city for removal if seen here in Quincy.

Heck, even in RI it is far worse, "Have Pain, Call Wayne!"... I'd cause pain to Wayne if I could for those eyesores.

Vermont does it right!

I always know I've crossed into RI from I-95 when I start being bombarded by personal injury lawyer advertisements.

Springfield, MA is the same way.
