Sounds like it was mostly for unanticipated/needed repairs. Article doesn't say anything about corruption.

Sounds like they need to do some serious hiring.

Anyone who has business dealings with the T will attest to the kick-back/corruption atmosphere there. It starts at the top. They need a manager to come in and demand excellence. For too long the T has run on an ' Eh? It's good enough' business model. Too many do nothing managers and too many no-show employees.

True that, but do we know how much of this referenced overtime was wasted?

I have heard The 2 people I know that work for the T brag several times about punching in or having someone punch them in and being home while getting paid. Also about the crazy time off they get. Truly disgusting

Yes, this way twice as many people can abuse the clock at the taxpayers' expense. Let me guess? We all need to pay higher taxes to right?

Either the OT is needed because of lots of work needing to be done and there isn't the staff to do it, or, there isn't quality supervision to ensure there aren't abuses of the system. Likely some of both. Either way, that's a hiring issue.

They've always had a ton of OT, even when they didn't fix anything.
