You can Google for yourself what the listing conveniently leaves out.

In case you don’t feel like it though as far as I can tell…

1) A major construction project being literally a few feet over.
2) Behind a funeral home.
3) By a busy street that connects to the interstate.
4) Whatever that parking lot is, may make it difficult to park your own car.

All things considered though if someone just wants to get into a standalone property in Newton I’ve seen worse. Like that glorified shack I posted about a few months back. If the sqft is accurate, it’s bigger than the pictures make it look. I wouldn’t be surprised if this gets snapped up fairly quick.

This is an understatement. The interstate is literally bordering the lot, and the bridge that is part of the access to the interstate is basically feet away from being directly over your lot. You share the parking lot Right in front of your house is the the parking lot for the funeral home.

Good spot for a business but I wouldn't want to spend 600k to live there. I bet if you lived there over 10 years you would be at increased risk for cancer, unless your windows are constantly shut.

If you look at the history it's been listed and relisted quite a bit.

Yeah, I was a little confused by the set up. On Google images it almost looks like that house has its own driveway. But it won’t let you scroll over enough to really see it. I’m guessing that is the driveway for neighbor. Then whoever buys this one just has to share the parking lot. It’s a pretty awkward set up. You have the funeral home, whatever that construction project is, the house in question, then one random neighbor.

Good point about the increased cancer risk. I didn’t think of that. If I’m understanding correctly you are referencing the likeliness that it has a crematorium? I know not all funeral homes have them, but this is all frills Newton so I’m guessing it would.

I remember a few years back seeing a similarly underpriced (for the area) property in Watertown. That one was right next to a cemetery. I wouldn’t be surprised if a funeral home was nearby too as a lot of the time these things were all designed to be close to each other. Like in this one you can also see a church is right by too. Similarly I live about a 10 minute walk from Calvary Cemetery in Waltham. Right across from that one is a gravestone engraver, but there may be some other funeral related things I’m forgetting.

^^^
I assumed cancer risk was from automobile and truck pollution.

Overall I'd say it's a good investment for someone. Plenty to find wrong with it but plenty right with it also.

Yeah, like any time you get thirsty, you can go buy a can of soda in the next door neighbor's front yard.

The highway is right behind the tall tan fence.

The construction project was for a house. That's a 2011 street view.
