Just got my insurance renewal (MAPFRE). FIFTY-ONE percent increase (perfect driving record here). I'm bull$%$%. The state police needs to get out there and start cracking down. Like YESTERDAY.

Yep, I never see them sitting off to the side on highways anymore looking for speeders or reckless drivers. That plus all the revoked license/uninsured drivers out there....it's scary from a financial aspect just as much as it is from a safety aspect. It's gonna ding our pockets...not theirs cuz they don't have a pot to pi** in as it is so they've got nothing to lose if they crash into my 2023 luxury vehicle or your new truck.

Texters alone, they could be nailing them all day long. At least 60% of the drivers I pass on the hwy are doing it, and they are totally oblivious to what is going on around them (not like they would notice if a cop was right there).

Then you also have to worry about idiots with unsecured loads who are totally ignorant and oblivious to the damage and injury it could cause to other drivers around them. Just like this: https://whdh.com/news/thank-god-it-d...truck-on-i-95/

I used to drive a Ford Taurus SHO. Looked nothing like a cop car but you wouldn't believe the amount of people that slowed down or got out of the way if i came up on them in the left lane. No lights or anything like that. Folks just saw a black Taurus sedan creeping up and would just move over. If i was in the middle lane and people were flying by in the left, more than once I'd see someone slam on their brakes as they were passing me. I used to crack up about it all the time, but eventually it got annoying.

All the yahoos out on the roads today, not running winter tires and think they can still drive like it's 50 degrees and sunny out.

The roads didn't seem that bad this morning. Tonight might be a different story with the temperature dropping. Could be very icy.

They are definitely worse now.

I took backroads this AM to avoid the yahoos. Still ran into plenty.

That's the thing....they don't seem that bad makes people less cautious than they ought to be. I'm looking out my window now and I can't even see pavement on my street...they're a slushy mess.
