It's obvious to state that Massachusetts drivers are capable of displaying sheer craziness on the road. In other parts of the country, this type of driving would be considered insane!

My pet peeve when it comes to Massachusetts drivers is when they pass on the right on a one-lane road (see photo below)! What's yours?

Directionals are optional on some cars, you didn't know that? LOL.... You want to see a large mixture of road idiots, come to Florida for a few years!!!!

Now, I must say the drivers in Western Mass are a lot different from the drivers say Worcester over to Boston. We drive a lot better over there, I hate driving in Boston, they are nuts....

Drivers were pretty slow in Cape Cod. I think it is because of the higher percentage of elderly.

Call me nuts but I LIKE big city drivers even in areas like Boston, etc. Country folk are SCAREY drivers all oblivious to other cars. If I'm passing on the right it's because someone's holding up traffic on the left which is for passing.. not toodling along!

I moved to the Atlanta area after 15 years in MA and years before that in NY. I can tell you that drivers in MA are MUCH better than the morons driving down here.

We lived in central MA, but I drove in Boston, Waltham, and other areas around 128, and while the occasional driver would behave like an idiot, it wasn't the overwhelming number of people. Although not 100%, people in MA do use turn signals, and they do have at least some clue what to do behind the wheel.

In Atlanta, speeding, tailgaiting, weaving in and out of lanes, and very unpredictable behavior behind the wheel is the norm. Turn signals are completely unknown. I mean they are almost NEVER used by anyone, except people who have moved here from somewhere else. There are very few cops here on the roads and the state police doesn't patrol the highways in the city areas, so the lack of enforcement contributes to the bad behavior. In MA, you would never get away with doing 80+ in a 55mph on a consistent basis. Here it's the norm and people will crawl up your bumper if you're not keeping up.

Florida drivers are by far the worst... I have driven in the Cape and was amazed at how they let out into traffic where as in florida you will sit for 15 20 mins until there is a clear spot to get on the road! I was amazed!

I think I have made it pretty clear what I feel about Ma. drivers but just to review.....banging a left and no turn signals.

My biggest pet peeve about MA drivers is the lack of knowledge on how to MERGE. It' ain't brain surgery--if two lines of traffic are merging into one, you simply allow every OTHER car to actually go in front of you. People are just so intent on being FIRST, they won't give up their "spot" and stay so close to the preceeding car to avoid letting anyone else in the line.

Another issue I have is when at a stop light, when the light is yellow and people just keep filling the intersection, even though they can SEE that the traffic ahead of them isn't moving. This completely stops the flow of traffic for the people who now have the green light. I drive a large 4x4 sometimes, and nothing makes me want to drive OVER another car as when some idiot has blocked the intersection, and is completely oblivious because they're so busy yapping on their cell phone. Ggrrrrrr!!!

Lack of consideration, I suppose, is the root of both of those issues I have with Mass. drivers...

Default Mass drivers

Any state with a high population density has aggressive drivers. I find that Mass drivers are still a bit more couteous than in other densely populated metro areas. Rhode Island (another very densley populated area) is just as aggressive, but maybe a bit more stupid in their judgement.
