Default dual commute to Boston area and Plymouth - town recommendations?

My husband and I are looking to buy a place in the south Boston suburbs. He currently has a job in Plymouth MA and I am finishing my PhD at UMass Amherst and then will be looking for a job in the greater Boston area. Even though I don't know specifically where I will be working yet we're looking at possibly buying a house because I should finish within a year and to qualify for the tax credit.

We've done some research and it seems like Dedham might be our best option and then possibly Westwood or Norwood. Does anyone have any feedback on these areas or other suggestions? We would like to keep his commute under an hour while still giving me a pretty good radius to find a job with a reasonable commute. Our budget is around ~$350K.

And on a different note does anyone have recommendations for realtors in the area? Thanks!

How about Quincy? I know parts of it are not so nice but I have friends who live in the Wollaston area and love it. They're on a very pretty street walking distance to the T and the beach. I know they really liked their realtor. If you'd like me to send along his name please feel free to PM me. I don't know anyone who handles the other towns you mentioned but I know there is a realtor who visits this site often who I believe covers Plymouth so I'm sure she'll chime in. :-)

Braintree might be your best option. You can get on the subway there to get into Boston and he can get to downtown Plymouth in about 35-40 minutes.

You might consider Hingham - or Weymouth. Hingham would be a bit higher priced homes. My favorite is Scituate as I have relatives there - but it is a longer comute to Boston. To me, Dedham to Plymouth would be a long comute.
