Default What kind of vibe does Millbury give off?

Hi, my wife and I are are seriously considering relocating to Shrewsbury because we like that it has a Boston-suburb-appeal, yet its less expensive than towns near the city. However, we are also curious about Millbury. My wife and I both grew up in very rural towns and we are sick of that scene to be honest, so my question is: does Millbury give off that rural/"farmy" vibe, or more of a residential vibe? I know its far more bluecollar than Shrewsbury, but I'm just wondering what kind of town "vibe" Millbury carries. Does it have a lot of "country town" features or more of a residential character? As I said, we've done the rural scene- been there, done that, we've milked the cows and picked the corn, and now we're interested in a town thats has a bit more of a suburban feel.

We have lived in Millbury atleast 2 years. I have to say I really love this little town. People are friendly and nice. It is VERY easy to access Mass Pike and so many neaby towns like Shrewsbury, auburn, worcester, Grafton, Westborough.. I dont know why Millbury is not as "hot" as it should be. It has a very small downtown (could use some improvements) and some very decent neighborhoods near dorothy pond area and couple other areas. Not too many restaurants but does have few decent ones. A big Mall very conviniently located.. with many stores including Babies r us.. All in all I would recommend this town. It is definitely residential not farmy.
You will get much more house for your money here than in Shrewsbury. It may be easier to get to Mass pike from Millbury than from some parts of Shrewsbury.
Only thing I dont know is if schools are as good as in Shrewsbury. You can look up data for that. But yes Shrewsbury is more busier and with may be more activities if that is what you want.
On the other hand it is easy drive from Millbury to all those.
