Neighborhood scout is not the most reliable of sources. Also you posted this on June 10th and the Memphis news channel piece you reference is from April. So do you search the internet for negative Memphis information; because I do not get why you are posting this so late. Lastly having grown up in South Los Angeles I find any West Memphis, AR neighborhood being listed as a top 25 most dangerous neighborhood laughable.

South Memphis and parts of West Memphis are ghetto as hell. That's not even news. You don't have to be in a big city to be in a dangerous place. Much of Forrest City AR is also pretty scary. But all of that is a problem mostly for the people who live in those areas. Large swaths of Downtown, Midtown, and East Memphis are very safe, stable, and affluent.

I agree with you EastMemphisGuy that south Memphis is ghetto as hell. I work in Frayser and Frayser is pretty ghetto but I do not fear for me life. South Memphis though I avoid like the plague. West Memphis, Arkansas though does not contain a top 25 most dangerous area. I am not saying there are not dangerous parts of West Memphis, Arkansas I'm just saying that there are at least 100 neighborhoods that will make any part of West Memphis look like a cupcake. Also I know big cities are not the only dangerous cities. There is Compton, CA, Richmond, CA, Youngstown, OH, Flint, MI, Santa Ana, CA, Yonkers NY, etc... Basically I am not saying West Memphis is a nice place to live because for the most part it is not. I am just saying someone who grew up in a really bad neighborhood is not going to find West Memphis as one of the most dangerous places. I know people from the hood parts of Memphis that do not view West Memphis as dangerous.

I agree, don't you have something better to do? Not sure where you live, but try to find the positive in your home, wherever it is, instead of bashing Memphis. We all live here and some of us try to find the good, and make it better.
