I had never heard of chilo. As far as I'm concerned Chilo is short for Isidro.
Also some of the slang vary due to the accent of a particular state. If you go to Sonora, you will find a lot of people pronounce ch as sh. So you hear them say,"Ay shiquillo!" Oh and everything ends with illo or illa like most northern states. Chiquillo, platillo, puertilla, maquinilla, etc.
Escuincle- if you ever watched El chavo del Ocho, you would have heard this one from Dona Florinda. This was one of my mom's words too as well as, "hija de tu madre". Of course, she was the only one allowed to use it toward us...hahahaha.
yeahhh...i heard shiquillo before, or referring to a little gangster, "pachucillo"...but I only heard it by voice..never r ead it, or heard people other than my mom or grandma talk like that
I don't think so...at least in sonora that is not common.
Maybe you talk about the northeast (Nuevo Leon, coahuila, tamaulipas), there are differences also between slang of the people of the northeast and the northwest.
Yes, you are right. I did not specify which northern states I was referring to. In Zacatecas we talk like that all the time, in the small towns and ranchos, that is.
cotorrear-chat
cotorra or vesti santos- a woman who never married
sale- let's do it or you're on, etc.
I didn't understand that at all. Not very good w/ slang? What is some slang that "cholos" use?
Something like that.
Que transa vato?= what's up man?= cero(0) (nothing new).
Que barrio tiras morro?= what is your neighborhood?= puro BBG socio(pure BBG man)
Cholos to talk about to their neighbourhood generally use the initial of their neighbourhood, and initials of their description.
Example: BBG, the first "B"(Balderrama is the neighbourhood) the second "B" (big), and the "G" (ghetto).
BBG=Balderrama barrio grande =Balderrama big ghetto.
cholos also mix English and the Spanish(spanglish).
of those some have made it to contemporary mexican spanish
rola is very popular when refering to songs.

Its funny how American cholos spoke a lot of spanish influenced slang, and over time, Mexicans started speaking some Chicano/English influenced slang. Especially in northern cities.
Thanks! That reminds me of Cheech in a movie called Born in East LA
