I am leaning towards Tijuana to retire to. I am Chinese and there are numerous places to buy Chinese groceries there and its next to San Diego. How awesome is that to have a great USA city within walking distance ( if you are in shape).
Go to the yucutan peninsula with beautiful jungles and political leftism.

That’s not true.

I recently spoke with a Mexican immigrant that cannot go back home due to the cartels and corrupt government.

He was willing to return home with the US Marine Corps. He is pretty mad that US troops are in the Middle East instead of Mexico.

How does your anecdote concerning one person afraid to return home make the other person's statement that millions of illegals have no intention of returning home "not true"?

There are 120 million Mexicans living in Mexico today and managing to deal with those cartels and corrupt government.

Hopefully and sooner rather than later the Mexican people will win.

though that scenario is played out over and over again....

Right....my parents "managed" to live under Stalin and Hitler for almost 30 years.

People manage....they were really HAPPY to see the US Military in 1945.

There is a reason 25% of Mexico is now living in the US.

An no, no one in Mexico would be happy to see marines doing what they have done to the Middle East. Your acquaintance is out of touch with reality by a considerable distance.

Viva la Mexico!

Mexico is a very, very beautiful country with wonderful people. We have had the pleasure of traveling several years ago through it. We spent two months, at one time in Cancun, and two months another time in Acapulco, now it breaks my heart to see what has happened to Acapulco, and what is happening to Cancun.....see below:

I agree it's a great country and visit often. They should fight for freedom from socialism a corrupt government. Capitalism and less corrupt government is the only thing that will save this beautiful country.

Population of Mexico is about 130 million. You're seriously thinking 43 million people living in the United States are Mexican citizens?

I'm skeptical.

How on earth can anyone in the U.S. today point a finger at corruption elsewhere, given what's been going on in Washington DC the last 2 years! Allow me to finish off your last sentence: Capitalism and less corrupt government is the only thing that will save this beautiful country, Mexico, and its neighbor to the North!
