You will find more in some areas like south beach, Miami shores and the Grove but you will also find straight people living in those areas. I don't think we agree on the definition of closeted gay. To me is someone that dates and/or marries women. It's not really that hard to figure out whose gay or whose not (usually by their circle of friends) but some of them choose not to talk about their private life and that should be respected.
Yah, I know what you saying. In my opinion there should be places where gay ppl could be themselves without having the fears of being harassed or looked as weird by the "normal" population, which sadly is a big number of them.

Your definition of "being in the closet" is somewhat similar to mine, but not entirely. Closeted gay, for me, (adding to what you said) is someone who won't tell his family or friends about his sexual preferences for reason that we might not understand, or simply, wouldn't want to. There is a reason why many commit suicide when teenagers. For example, living in a very religious house or country where homosexuality is punished even by death.

As far as Miami is concerned, to see gay owned and operated businesses and gay households, you should really go to the northeast sector of Miami. Gayborhoods such as Morningside, Belle Meade, and Miami Shores have attracted gay guys due to the whimsical architecture found in these areas. Also, gay guys have come to this part of Miami because the proximity of the bay makes for great weather, allowing for activities such as backyard cookouts, fun with your dog, or jogging around your block. All in all, gay men live all over Miami, but to see gay households and gay businesses, visit northeast Miami.

The closer you are to the Bay and ocean, the more likely you are going to find gay people. I don't know that I can think of a gay area in Miami that is west of I-95.
