We are moving to south Florida from small town Ohio and my husband is able to transfer to Miami.

We have 4 kids and want a safe town (no gangs, no murders, rapes...) where just petty crimes are expected. We want to pay no more than $900 a month. My son also will be trying out for traveling teams in the area.

Would like an area within 30 minute commute of Miami.

Thanks so much!!

I am assuming you are looking for a 3 bedroom. $900 a month with 4 kids isn't going to put you in a good area.

$900 is barely enough for a studio in some areas. I'm not sure what you want, but even 30 miles from Miami in a crappy neighborhood, you will be hard-pressed to find a place at all for that price.

I agree, $900 won't do it here. You might look in Broward county for the best bang for your buck reasonably close to Miami. You might want to ask in the FTL forum here.

I think it's going to be tough, if not impossible, to house a family of six in any decent South Florida neighborhood for $900/month.

Having lived in Miami for 7 years, the only place I consider for living in terms of safety is Sunny Isles Beach, which is not cheap, unfortunately.

I'm optimistic when people ask about real estate, but I have to say, for your requirements and budget, I don't think any place in South Florida matches what you're looking for.

^ I don't think the OP knows what they're up for if they move here. Miami is not small town Ohio. And I'm not just talking about real estate.

You are not confusing this with Miami,Ohio, because there you might get something for $900 a month for 3 bedrooms.
