Fires are the main concern when there is little or no rain.

What a great discussion, I was out on the water yesterday (nice having friends with boats) and you could see the fire from the everglades. We need some precipitation.

Not gonna happen anytime soon. We need cold air in the upper levels and lift. As long high pressure aloft is sitting on top of us we won't see any real rain. High pressure makes for sinking air that puts a cap on cloud growth, also sinking air heats up do to friction.

Got a little rain today and Broward looks like it got a lot today, which is good as they are worse of than Miami-Dade.

It takes a few days for the rainy season to gain strength. I was noticing the increase in humidity and the rising cumulonimbus clouds over the pastures. While trying to pressure clean the dozer and bobcats I was sweating a lot more than I have recently. It did not rain much but when it does I can finally regrade the road with the crushed concrete debris I made over the last few months. Irrigation has kept my plants healthy and happy. Now I am taking a break in the 72 degree house before going back outside to organize my shop.

Actually I may be doing the road faster than I think. It is raining hard right now, and I had to run back in the house. Bad thing about this home, with the windows and doors closed it is possible to have a storm and not even know it. This is only the third thunderstorm here since I moved in back in October 2010. Winds are over 40 miles an hour according the anemometer and barometric pressure is 29.1 it seems.

Hey, push that rain down to the Everglades when you're done with it. I feel bad for the gators and purple gallinules and all my other little Glades friends. (Animals, that is.)
