^^^
Is that map showing the second most common language in each of those NYC neighborhoods? I would think that English would be the #1 spoken language in many of those areas, especially in lower Manhattan.

Yes, it only shows the second most common spoken language in each NY neghborhood

This is the map for the most common languages spoken in each neighborhood that are not English or Spanish.

Winterfront, do you have a map of NYC that shows the most common language spoken, and a map of Miami-Dade showing the most common language spoken?

Oh not really... but these ones are interesting too:

Language map: What’s the most popular language in your state?

I would say Russian in Sunny Isles and French in Little Haiti.

Yeah.. those two are safe bets. We forumers should create a map showing most common languages after Spanish and English for every neighborhood in Dade. At least a data where everyone can contribute.

That map is utter rubbish, but in the case of lower manhattan, depending on where you are, you are just as likely to hear some Chinese language.

If the maps showed the most common languages spoken by NYC neighborhood, then they'd be meaningful. Similarly, a map showing the most common language spoken by Miami-Dade neighborhood would also be meaningful. Further. percent of residents fluent in most commonly spoken language by neighborhood and percent of residents fluent in second most commonly spoken language by neighborhood would add depth to the data. Otherwise, the maps are worthless and even potentially misleading.
