Combine this with those who relocate from the northeast who tend to be already equipped with bad attitudes and BAM! Recipe for disaster, I mean, S. Florida.

I agree, and I've lived in some fifteen countries across five languages and three continents, including New York.

For those who whine and complain about rudeness, learn to like rude and experience the stark beauty of it.

It really is that simple.

Erm....no.

How can anyone like rudeness?

I also find in many cases those accusing others of being rude are often as or more rude themselves (scolding someone for not saying excuse me then proceeding to check out at the express line—10 items or less—at the grocery store with 25 items).

Prove otherwise...I’ve had many situations in which the least qualified individuals accused others of being rude...I will be happy to share many an example. Also, there is a huge difference between being rude v being direct.

Not denying rudeness exists in Miami, as it does in most big cities.

As for unfriendly, maybe because SoFla is very transient and has a large foreign population...takes a little more effort to make friends with people you have something in common with, but it’s not impossible...frankly, I find I have more privacy as a result which is also a good thing as I get older.

Suit yourself.

I live in the real world, and it is starkly beautiful.

No complaints here.

Good Luck!

As a native of South Florida I am willing to wager if one lifts the lid and peers a little deeper it's not to so much about "rudeness" as it is a racist mentality. Strong words? Yep. Closer to reality however? You betcha.
