305guy ... yes there is a North Beach , which is an up coming area and also very different from South Beach ... locals are mainly ex-New Yorkers , Argentines , Brazilians and Eastern Europeans .. great Argentine beef restaurants in that area , with out the pretentiousness of SoBe .

It would be very paradoxical if there wasn't, as that is where I live...

A bit off topic, but how do you like Miramar? We're seriously considering moving there (west of 75) or Pembroke Pines within the year. Lots of steals on homes right now with the market tanking. Are you familiar with the Silver Lakes area?

I like Miramar alot. I live about 10 minutes east of Silver Lakes and there are lot of gated/ungated communities out there and home prices are dropping fast. Everything out there is newer (off Miramar Pwy) and there are alot of shops of Pines Blvd as well. The neigborhood you are talking about is low in crime and there are lot of Jamaicans/Non-hispanic Whites/ Hispanics out there so it's a pretty cool mix. Send me a direct message if you want more info...

Just to help you out Lost - North Beach is a section of the city of Miami Beach, Florida, USA. It is the northernmost section of the city, from its southern boundary just south of 63rd Street (where Collins Avenue (A1A northbound) converges with Indian Creek Drive (A1A southbound) and continues as A1A/Collins Avenue) to the northern limit of the city near 87th Terrace. It also includes Normandy Island, Normandy Shores, La Gorce and Allison islands to the west.

Thank you! The reason I started this thread was to find out if anyone had anything good to say about Miami. Reading through quite a few forums I became cognizant that a lot of people seem to hate Miami. I'm quite happy to know much hasn't changed since I lived there in 2001.

Loathe - traffic.
Tips - don't be scared by what the Miami haters post on this bored. Miami is like any other major city, we just happen to go to the beach on weekends.

Default Danke!

Thank you everyone! All of your posts have been most helpful. I'm glad to know much hasn't changed since 2001. Anyone else feel free to post:

I've skimmed through the various forums and was wondering a few things about Miamians:

1. What do you LOVE about your specific neighborhood and entire city
2. What do you LOATHE about your specific neighborhood entire city
3. What tips can you give someone that's moving back in 2010?
