Cousins, uncles, friends, and even classmates all getting gunned down. Some of you people here think Miami is bad and is full crime. I want to let you know, you haven't seen nothing. I have passed through overtown and its a joke. Its more like a area full of poor mostly working class people. Even in the middle class areas of New Orleans there are murders and robberies. I must say florida is a nice place coming from New Orleans because I wish to never return. The only drawbacks are the traffic, spanish population, and the language barrier.

miami's middle class has murders to, my neighbors son was shot 3 times in the chest , and died.

Don't get me wrong, I am aware of the crime here. I watch the local news and I don't see 3-4 murders every 3 hours here. I feel might safer here in Miami. If I had to I would live in Overtown in a heartbeat than to go back to New Orleans.

I caught a tv show called the first 48 and i swear they were filming a murder in that neighborhood. do you think it was an isolated incident? thanks fellow city data posters.
Why on earth would you even consider staying in Overtown ... that is like posting in the Los Angeles forum and inquiring about lodging in Compton !!!

Overtown is not really near the airport and you can stay around the airport and avoid Overtown completely ... no Latinas there , only nasty ghettos .. go to South Beach , Brickell , Coral Gables or Coconut Grove if you want to see lovely women both Latina and American

The really dangerous areas are places like brownsville, the triangle in opa locka, all the places that dont get AS MUCH publicity as overtown.
