Tough one....I doubt you'll have any issues in the sense of the issues you'd have in the deep south, but I've witnessed first hand a lot of racist remarks made by white Cubans here (which is laughable, considering the fact that African Americans have been here a darn sight longer than they have!).

Black/non-black dating is a common and everyday occurence in South Beach. However, back on the mainland outside of a few areas it is not common at all. Sure, Miami-Dade County may not be Mississippi or Alabama, as one forumer has suggested, but it certaintly isn't New York or Los Angeles either when it comes to attitudes on interracial dating and marriage.

There are large swaths of Miami-Dade that have a population of < 5% black, and giving that Asians have very little presence in the area, interracial couples in many areas will stick out. Interracial couples will generally be fine in these areas, though, and the worst they can expect is maybe a few doubletakes from young people and a few disapproving glances from older people. Generally, young people in any area are accepting of interracial dating.

Well, I have danced with several latin men (spanish music and hip hop) and they love it. So I would guess you'd be ok dancing with a latin girl if you're black too.

Also, south beach is south beach, not Miami. Miami still has some underground racial issues they need to sort out. I dont care what anyone on city data says...listen to ME. Miami is also one of those weird places where different races hardly mingle closely unless you happen to know a friend of a friend.

For example, many (not all) people in Kendall are very indifferent torwards people who arent spanish (which is why I prefer to no longer visit that area). Many (not all) People in Carol City are indifferent to people who arent Black. Having been in both parts of town the type of vibe is polar opposite.

South Beach is just a melting pot so I wouldnt even let people use that as an example. You can dance with or **** anything that walks

I dunno, Miami-Dade County jails are like 2/3's black, so there might be a lot of interracial relationships in the county's detention centers...

OK, now that is an insensitive comment. Do you really think that saying something like that will help the OP?

Since Mississippi is almost 40% black and only 58% white/non-latino I don't know where you're getting your information Unless, that is.. you're using a stereotype ?

Cougar Beach is not female. I think I remember it getting mad at me one time because I called it a lady or something.
