Come on really where is a better true tropical major big city in the world???climate
Tropical climate - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia =must meet this criteria to be in the debate...
honolulu, hawaii comes in 2nd place but to me its not even close Hawaii your stuck on a island in the middle of the Vast Pacific ocean. and unless you are a hardcore surfer and huge pothead you will leave hawaii. I mean I once was thinking of going to Uof H for college but i then realized i could drive around the whole island in about 3 or 4 hours!!! No thanks
-San diego, LA, Houston/ galveston, all too cold sorry they don't make the cut they can not be added into the discussion. Tampa, Fl would be close but too cold there as well...
ok what about outside the U.S.? anything out there? I mean miami and fort lauderdale do have their bad slums and ghettos but it seems to me all the tropical city's outside the U.S. have far worse living conditions/ghettos/bad drinking water ect...

and yes i know miami is in the subtrobics )slightly above the tropic of cancer);but that doesnt matter their average monthly temperature never falls below 64.4 degrees(see above citation) thus making south florida have a true tropical climate

Well, technically, southern Florida is the only area with a tropical climate in United States. Hawai'i doesn't fall into this category, they have a warm semi-arid climate.

wow honolulu isn't technically a tropical city? didn't know that... anyways I understand that a lot of people would dislike or even hate being in a year round tropical climate. Some people are different(as always) and some like it

Yeah, I guess everyone is different, and understand why so many people hate the SoFla climate. All my life (24) I have lived in the somewhat continental climate (hot summers and very cold winters; in July/August, we had temperature extremes up to 110F), and I can't wait to come and enjoy the SoFla climate. Although I am sure that will change too, and will probably miss the winters in few years from now.

Brisbane, Australia has a similar climate to Miami. Guess what? I'd rather live in Brisbane.
Hong Kong's climate is pretty close to being tropical....I think it's fair to say that Hong Kong is far more of a "big city" than Miami (the skyline is probably the 2nd best in the world, after NY).
I've never been to Honolulu, but the climate there is technically more "tropical" than Miami.
Where else? Hmmm...most cities in the tropics around the world are in developing countries, so there isn't much comparison, but I'm sure that I'd find the likes of Calcutta, Rio De Janeiro, Bangkok and even places closer to home like San Juan (Puerto Rico) to be far more interesting than Miami.

hmm while Brisbane and Hong kong are great cities i'm sure in their own unique ways they are too cold in the winters to be considered a tropical climate. both average in the 40's in the winter months...
