I would just live in Coldwater. Nice enough town, save money living near your work, then hop on the expressway to wherever you like to go on weekends.

Avoid Battle Creek for living.

Marshall is a very nice small city. Quite charming. If you are the type who is always on the go, likes shopping, the nightlife, cultural things, etc. I would live in Marshall because then it's an easy commute on your days off to the Kalamazoo area, Ann Arbor, or Lansing..... all of which will satisfy those needs.

Union City isn't really anything.

One of my favorite little towns (which you probably have no interest in at this stage in your life) is actually Colon which is straight west of Coldwater. Just a fun little village to spend an afternoon at (at least my young family enjoyed it).

Good luck

100% agree with jeeg on this. Used to live in Marshall and I always liked Coldwater itself.

Colon is the magic capital of the USA!

Marshal and Coldwater are both really nice towns with loats of cool houses and a neat downtown. I like Marshall a little bit better, but it is bigger, and I prefer small communities where you can get to know everyone.
