Imagine you are retiring with a pension tomorrow, and could move (or not move) anywhere in the state to live.

Would you move to a different area of Michigan or stay where you are?

What place would you choose for your retirement home?

I would move to somewhere between Munising and Houghton, along Superior.

And money is no object? If not, then I would buy one of the Victorian mansions on Mackinac Island and split my time between there in the summer and South Carolina in the winter.

I'll apologize for the dumb question up front, but do any of the islands on Lake Superior have people who live on them year round? I always thought the Apostle Islands sound really nice.

I guess I'd spend summer in the UP along Lake Superior, but I think the rest of the year I'd like to be over by Leland.
