I'm moving to Michigan by the end of this month, my boyfriend will be working in Harbor Beach . We are both from California so we have no idea what city to move to. What city around that area has low crime rate ? It can be up to 45 mins from Harbor Beach as long as it has good neighborhoods. Thank you

That town is pretty safe as most of the crime in town is either burglaries or property theft. There isn't much around in that area, there are smaller towns but you would be okay if you lived in Harbor Beach. I'm not positive how the neighborhoods are, I'm familiar with that area of the state but I am not familiar with specific neighborhoods.

Everything in that area is small towns. Bad Ax is the largest I believe with just over 3000 people, Harbor Beach is about 1/2 that size, Port Austin is about 1/2 the size of Harbor Beach. Anything larger than Bad Ax is further than 45 minutes from Harbor Beach.

End of this month? Better get on REI, Cabelas, LL Bean, or down to a local store and have winter jackets, gloves, boots and hats ready for the move. It will still be cold and unless you are from around the ski areas or up in the mountains the stuff you wear by the coasts are not going to cut it for keeping you warm.

Port Sanilac is nice. About 30 miles from Harbor Beach though.
