Kayaks
Hi, I'm new to the whole kayaking down rivers and drinking beer, but it seems to be pretty popular here and I love it! So I'm moving to West Michigan (from my hometown Las Vegas) and I wanted to buy my girlfriend a kayak for her birthday. I don't want an inflatable one, I need to find one of those hard plastic kind, but for cheap, all the ones I've seen were between $600 - $1000. Since I'm new to this kind of thing and know almost nothing about kayaks, could someone help me or point me to a shop in West Michigan (Grand Rapids, Muskegon area) where I might find what I'm looking for?
Thanks
Edit: Don't be confused I'm not new to beer drinking.

Check any of the Dunham Sports stores, or even Wal-Mart has entry level that are WAY under $600. This week I saw some Old Town Kayaks on sale for under $300. Just check any sports store and they are bound to have a line from cheaper entry level to top end. Good Luck, and it is a blast!

Craigslist is always chocked full of those kinds of things:
classifieds - craigslist
I also just noticed a bunch on sale at Dick's Sporting Goods in Rivertown Crossings, but didn't catch the prices.

I like to combine floating down a river with beer drinking as well. Although I am clumsy and prefer something that doesn't tip over easily... like an inner tube.
I would definitely go the Craigslist route, especially for seasonal sporting goods (and because there is no REI near me ).
