Hi everyone, new poster.

I am originally from the Detroit area, and after being gone for fifteen years am considering a position in the Frankenmuth area. Yeah I know, why would anyone move back there but it's a good job in a stable industry.

My problem is this. I have been researching rental homes as I will not be in a position to buy for at least a year when I move there. I am a professional with a young son (3) who is in early intervention preschool through our school district. I can't find many rental homes in the Frankenmuth area, and I am hesitant about the Flint/Saginaw areas because I know they both have bad areas (like Detroit) and I don't know anything about either.

I would like to find a three bedroom home with a washer/dryer or washer/dryer hookup. Any suggestions on where I could find a "nice" quality rental in a good area, that's within 20 miles of Frankenmuth?

Hello,

I moved to Frankenmuth about a year ago. I rented a fairly nice home there fro about 8 months. You can find nice house to rent there but you will have to go to the town and drive through (which doesnt take long) and you can also ask for help and there chamber and there down town authority/visitor center. I had to find a house in about a weeks notice and actually had three to choose from.

Good luck it is a nice town to rasie a child

Thanks for your response! I am super excited about moving there, it's a place I always thought would be a good place to live. Interesting about having to go to the chamber of commerce/drive through town though. I do only have about two weeks though, so that's the right time frame. Wish me luck, not the best time of year to be looking for a house!

Yes yes but stay away from Flint/Saginaw. Look more in the "country" towards F'muth.
