Just wondering, when you say 'condo', what exactly are you looking for? A highrise, loft, or side-by-side? Royal Oak has a little bit of all 3.

A high rise or loft. Not a side by side. Something with a parking garage (preferably heated), lobby, fitness center, etc.

Well, Royal Oak is the best pick in Oakland County for you then. It's pretty much the midway between Birmingham (horrifyingly expensive) and areas like Madison Heights.

Would Southfield work for you? I used to work at 5000 at town center. They are now Hi rise condo's and they are pretty nice. Has a parking garage with a tunnel that takes you into the building. Swimming pool 9 (outside) pretty sure it has a little workout room. Bill Bonds used to live there, Vinnie Johnson lived there when I worked there. Check them out.

Never thought of Southfield. I was looking for a urban area where I could walk to a lot of different places.

I also want a community where the topic of conversation isn't the weather. For the love of christ, I'm tired of hearing about the horrible weather in Gaylurd.

Well, I went to Royal Oak today for the first time in a while. It made me think of this thread. Very upscale downtown. It's not just restaurant after restaurant, like you see in most cities similar to Royal Oak. It appears they're not to welcoming to minorities there. I don't know if you if you belong to a minority or not, but it seems (in some businesses) they have an issue with people that are. Just letting you know.
