They are currently offering select AFSCs (specific jobs) early retirement, so I would say yes.

From the informational sheet we received about these reduction/rollback things, I assume they need to know because under the dos-rollback or other reduction-via-rr programs, you are not technically discharged but have been transfered to that reserve thing (can some one fill in the actual name for the OP) where you are on that call-up option, not being paid,, but accumulating benefits and time in service until you are discharged.
**** OK, wanted to add, saw this notation that seperating service members need to ensure they are aware of their seperation status as veterans benefits may not be available until such time as they are officially discharged from all service.

Yeah, and I've read that this only applies to those that have served in between 6 and 14 years.

Temporary Early Retirement Authority (TERA) and the DOS Rollback are two very different programs.
TERA is offered to airmen in some overmanned fields with 15 to 19 years of service. If taken, you will be considered Retired for VA and DoD benefits. Early retirement offered to select enlisted Airmen
If you are affected by DOS Rollback and have less than 20 years of service, then you will be considered Separated for VA and DoD benefits. The DoD will give you some transitional benefits (access to Tricare, Commissary, etc), but once these expire, they're gone. Officials continue enlisted DOS rollback program
Bottom line: If you're being forced out under DOS Rollback and can take TERA, then take it.

Correct, what this does affect is TRICARE for Life.
The only thing that will affect your eligibility for VA health care is a dishonorable discharge or if you served for less than 24 months. Otherwise you should be good to go. Veterans - Health Benefits Home Page
