Also I didn't get what 38 weeks mean? What is the dream sheet?
I would like to stay in States so that I can live off base with my Mom. I will try as hard as possible to finish A school very well.
Is my 48 college credits with 3.7 GPA gonna help me? I mean is it counts toward A school grades?
What he described is the same as what I experienced. I left Active Duty in '01.

Every school has a length. Some schools may be 4-weeks, other schools may be 50-weeks. Every Friday you sit an exam of what was taught that week. If you pass then you can move on to the next week of instruction. If you fail, then they will assemble a board to discuss, review and likely set you back a week.

A 'dream sheet' is where you write what you would prefer for assignment. In you case, you prefer to be stateside.

Your college credits have no connection to the Navy. Your college grades have no connection.

My A school lasts 9 weeks. So, I need to be in top 20% in order to choose the order where I want to serve?

Your college only got you your e3; it has no impact on your Navy schools. Navy schools are a whole different ballgame. typical experience (and mine); You will go to it like to work, no hour classes three times a day or anything. You also will have duty days on top of that. Depending on your school, you may have mando study times in the evening, and mando time if your grades slip below a set point. You will also have uniform inspections, field days, barracks inspections, etc.

You may get a dream sheet, where you fill out where you would like to go. When the time comes, it will depend on how your school is ran on how orders are given out; my school is was based on class rank.

Your college experience will help because you know how to go about school and studying but will not count anything at all for A school... Outside of a few schools in the Navy most material is taught at about a 9th or 10th grade so you shouldn't have any problem at all.

One other thing, a girl I worked with her son finished #1 in CTT school about 3 years ago and he was meritoriously advanced from E-2 to E-3, but in your case that may not matter as you are coming in as an E-3...
