Here's a pic of an acquaintance from school and was once a neighbor. In school he went by the name Eugene.

BTW, if anyone ever comes across the somewhat renown Time (or Life?) photo of Eugene riding on top of a military tank along with other soldiers, please let me know. In the photo, Eugene is lying wounded and is being given plasma from a raised bottle held by another soldier. The soldiers on the tank are not named in the photo. Some of us have been looking for that photo for many years.

Marines In Afghanistan Honor Brethren Killed In Helicopter Crash - Sergeant Major Mitchell Green holds the
dog tags of a fallen Marine as he pays his respects to his comrades during a ceremony at Camp Bastion, Afghanistan,
January 24th 2012. Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 363 held a ceremony to honor six Marines who were killed
when their CH-53D Sea Stallion helicopter crashed conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan,
January 19th 2012. While the crash is currently under investigation, NATO officials said there were no signs of enemy
activity in the area at the time of the incident. "Every Marine in this squadron understands the dangers of our job,
but that doesn't make it any easier when something like this happens," said Green, the squadron sergeant major.
"People are shocked, people are upset and people are hurt. We still have a mission to do, and it's not done until we're
heading back home to Hawaii.".

Default Lewis Clark Valley Veterans Wall

In Clarkston Washington we are trying to build this:

It serves as a thank you to all veterans that are from, served at or moved to Anatone, Asotin, or Clarkston, Washington or Lapwai or Lewiston, Idaho. We are including all branches, reserves, National Guards, Coast Guard, and Merchant Marines. Basically if you are considered a veteran and have lived in any of the above towns, we are including you on the monument until the monument is full. After that, we expand. Initial costs are estimated at $500,000 for the whole project. Since the board members are retired military and supporters (I myself was kicked at 100% disabled, kicking and screaming) nobody takes a wage that's part of the group. Thank you veterans. You shouldn't have to die to be honored for your sacrifice and nobody should have to pay to be on their own monument.
