Do schools run year long? Have a full summer or shortened summer? When does school end and begin? Thanks, moving soon with school aged kids and trying to get a feel.

Which district? The suburbs have their own school systems. Within MPS, there are also special schools like language immersion, Montessori, science/art schools, etc. and they may have a different schedule. I would check the MPS site for more information on the schools in the city. I do know that some run year round. Other districts to look at, depending on where you plan to move, would be Whitefish Bay, Glendale-River Hills, Brown Deer, Bayside, Shorewood. I'm not sure where the kids in Fox Point go to school. I am only familiar with the north side of the county but I'm pretty sure West Allis, Greenfield, all the south side municipalities also have their own districts.

Many public schools start the Tuesday after Labor Day and end about June 10 to 15. I don't know of any schools in the suburbs that go year round. Many have a month or six week half day summer school. I think that there may be some Milwaukee schools that are year long.

Just check out various school district websites.
