I moved to the Twin Cities in 2005 from Moorhead. I first lived in Bloomington for a year, and then I moved to Burnsville in August of 2006. I've lived here in Burnsville in the same house ever since. I attended Olson Middle School in Bloomington for seventh grade. I went to Metcalf Junior High for eighth and ninth grades. I graduated from Burnsville Senior High in June.

The thing I liked about Bloomington over Moorhead was the fact that I felt like I was living in a big city. It was quite a change. Burnsville has about 20,000 people fewer than Bloomington, but it's still almost twice the size of Moorhead. I like living here since it's a bedroom community. It's not as busy as Minneapolis. Most things my mom and I need are here. One thing about Burnsville that confuses me is the fact that the population didn't grow that much. You would think that projects like Heart of the City would attract people. Plus, the city just got fully developed in the 2000s.

The only thing I don't like about the Twin Cities is its cold winters. However, it's not as bad as Fargo-Moorhead.

I also like that almost all my family lives here in the metro.

Northfield. Sure, I like it as much as any other town in Minnesota, I suppose. Close enough to the Cities for a commute, albeit one that's going to get significantly worse when by job goes from three days/week to five in two or three months. Good place to raise kids, good schools, nice area. But I'm sure there's many other places in the state where I could be as happy as here.

I lived in Burnsville for a year in the mid-1990s.

Minneapolis. Well, if I'm really technical, I'm currently out of the country living in Manchester, England. But as that was just for a semester and I'll be back at the end of December, I think I can still consider Minneapolis home. :P

I have a lot of love for Minneapolis. Every time I leave (when I used to for summer breaks, general going away, or for a semester in this case), I realize how much the city offers and how much I miss it. When I get back, I'll be in a nice 1-bedroom apartment in a quiet area. But I can walk a few blocks and I'm in the heart of the St. Anthony area where there's some nightlife, stores, groceries, etc. I love the proximity to everything. That I can bike just about anywhere and have a lane designated for me (and with or without bike lanes, people in the city almost always know how to drive around bikes). I love the beauty of the city. I can think of few places where you can be in a tree-lined area with decent rent, then be biking across the amazing Stone Arch Bridge with one of the most magnificent views of downtown possible.

I've often wondered if this city is really "enough" for me. Many of my friends aspire for bigger cities like New York and Chicago. And I think I would like those places. I really do. But there's something that draws me to Minneapolis. Perhaps it's the feeling of big city, but without many of the hassles. Or maybe it's just because I've actually found the place that I want to call home.

Anoka for me. I like it reasonably well. For our next move, I think I'd prefer pulling down into the metro a bit more, maybe even somewhere in St Paul, but commuting time is important to us, so it depends where my wife and I are each working by then.

Robbinsdale. I like it. It's safe, nice people, and they work hard to keep it a community. I also love that it's centrally located.

I grew up in South Minneapolis. I lived in Moorhead for 4 years in college. Moved back to Uptown in 2006. Since, I've lived in Boulder Colorado and Los Angeles, however I'm sure I'll end up back in South Minneapolis.

I'm proud to call Woodbury home. We built our house in '94, raised our children and intend on staying in the same house until we can't handle all the yard work ect. It's 13 miles to where I work in St Paul, has wonderful walking paths and shopping. I've always felt I get much value from what I consider to be very fair property taxes. I know there are people out there who don't like Woodbury, but it's been great for us.
