That is true to an extent. It seems like the west side has a much higher concentration of affluent suburbs (Edina, Eden Prairie, Minnetonka, Maple Grove, etc.) Than the rest. but there are deff. nice suburbs around all 4 quad of the metro.

I think some are forgetting the Maplewood and St Paul area that surrounds Lake Phalen. Oakdale as well but they all have their stand out points in the corners so...

You cross a road and its like city ghettos to nice suburbs.

Como then? Although Como is rental-heavy... I found Como to be more family-oriented and the housing to be massive ripoffs compared to Prospect Park or Marcy-Holmes.

There are some nice houses around Lake Phalen (newer on Maplewood side, older on St. Paul side) but it's not really that affluent compared to some of the other areas mentioned. I always think of the St. Paul side south of the lake as the Grumpy Old Men neighborhood, since it was used for the movie.
