My son and I would like to attend a musical down on North Robert St. St. Paul. I keep hearing that it is unsafe to be down there at night. Is this true

Better he ask than just avoid the area as so many do. I don't think we city residents fully appreciate how many people in the surrounding area are fearful of going into the cities.

True. I suppose there is that. My rural-living parents don't have any safety concerns about the "big city," but they are oddly worried about driving here.

Same in our family. My in-laws won't drive in city traffic anymore. I have to meet them and drive them into the city. Maybe someday I'll be nervous to drive gravel roads.

No, that area is no problem. In fact, there's quite a bit of new construction, restaurants, bars & activity along that street. Stop in at Sawtdee & have some Thai food before you go, or hit Black Sheep Coal Fired Pizza for a delicious pizza.

I'm at Black Sheep right now! Love this place. Although it is a bit of a shame that the one in North Loop now has a full bar and this one is just beer and wine.

Thank You Mason3000! I lived in Newark, NJ and there were some really rough areas to be avoided. I appreciate your answer!
