I am celebrating my 2 yr anniversary with my wife and was wondering where in Minneapolis is the best spot to watch the sunset? I thought the Stone Arch Bridge would be nice, but the downtown buildings block the sunset to the west and it doesnt look all that cool.

Any opinions would be appreciated!

The observation deck of the Foshay is back open. I don't know what a sunset looks like from thirty floors up, though.

I've heard that Theo Wirth Park has some good spots for watching the sunset, haven't seen one there so not exactly sure where would be good, but I remember some good west-facing views the last time I was there.

I used to do Landscaping across the entire Metro of MPLS-STP. I look at it as a wonderful 3 year experience where I worked in literally, every city in the metro area extensivley. I have travelled on almost every cooridor imaginable. At one time in the early morning I Was driving over a bridge where to the left (west) i could see the MPLS skyline and to the right (east) I could see the STP skyline, both glimmering from the sunrise. I have no idea where that was..Anyone have any ideas?

Is that open to the general public or just the snobby suits staying at the overpriced hotel now occupying the Foshay? Somebody please prove me wrong but I have a feeling if I showed up there in my jeans and faded and torn Saint John's University tee shirt I'd get the old heave-ho in a matter of seconds.

I think you were on the Hwy 55 bridge over the MN river... that's the only one I can think of and the only place you can see both downtowns from a car.
