I just got back from a business trip there and your city ROCKS! I'm excited to be coming back in September! So many things to love about it. The people were wonderful, the city was easy to get around with lots to do, aesthetically pleasing, and all around far exceeded my expectations.

Would I live there? Probably not, I do love my warm weather and palm trees; but I can sure as heck think of a lot worse places and I wouldn't be upset if I had to move there for work or whatever.

You all need to come down to Florida and show 'em how to make a city!

Glad you enjoyed your visit! And ... I couldn't live in FL for the same weather reasons (just not my cup of tea), but it's a great place to vacation!

Hey Angel,

Spread the word. That way when friends from Florida discuss our move to Minneapolis - I dont get laughed at and mocked. Im cautiously optimistic to comment before the first full year, but we love it!

Glad you loved it...I wish more people could realize this! The city is much more than a 'big Midwestern town, in the tundra'.

The first time I visited Mpls, I was a teenager living in Miami. I spent two days here and the place just blew me away! I told myself, someday I'll live here. And, many years later, I did! (Well actually, St Paul). No regrets, wouldn't move back to FL if you paid me.

That's incredible! Can you give us some insight? Many people from MN just struggle to fathom this

You need to come back in January and see what it's really like.
Summers in Tampa may suck.
But winters in Minnesota suck even more.

I agree - I want to go the other way. Any of you Floridians care to give me your job? My garden will be dead in 5 weeks. My driveway will probably see some white stuff on it in 10 and then my car will be full of salt for the next 25 weeks afterward. Still want to live here? I can keep going....

Hey - MN is a nice place to VISIT. Even better if you're headed up north, but living? You have to be a liberal snow bunny to like it here in the twin cities all year looooooong...

One of the few things I hate more than frost bite is people who do nothing but trash talk a place and continue to live there.

If you don't like the sandwich after the first bite... why are you still eating it?
