I'm trying to plan a romantic night for my bf and me but since I am from out of town, I'm not to sure of where the fun places are in the cities. He lives in downtown MSP, so I'd like to stay there. I was thinking about the restaurant in the Graves hotel to start.. Any other ideas of fun/hip/interesting places to go or check out?? Thanks so much for any help!

I'd warm up at the Black Forest Inn.

I would suggest Fogo De Chao. It's a chain, but it's one of the better chains in the country.

If he lives in Minneapolis wouldn't it make sense for him to plan the romantic evening? Sorry for thinking outloud, but it seems much more logical to me.

If lives towards the river part of downtown there's always the Stone Arch Bridge. A nice walk, depending on the weather, is to head across the bridge, eat on the other side at somewhere like Pracna (the oldest restaurant in Minneapolis, then wander back across the bridge. We used to like walking over to Pracna on cold winter nights because it felt nice and cozy inside and there are nice views of downtown. Heading back across the river towards downtown is pretty romantic, at least if it's not too cold out or if you're bundled up well. You could stop off at a bar in the Warehouse District on the way back; there are plenty of them to choose from.

I'd suggest the following restaurants:

112 Eatery

SAPOR CAFE

A Minneapolis Hotel With Old World Charm and New World Comfort - Nicollet Island Inn

Vincent A Restaurant - Minneapolis and St. Paul ..

One possibility is to stay around the riverfront--eat at one of the first 3 restaurants, walk along the riverfront, check out the Stone Arch Bridge, views from the Guthrie, and stop at bars and drink your way over to East Hennepin (check out Nyes) or to the 501 Club (near the Milwaukee Depot) for music. Or you could stay around Nicollet Mall and 10th-11th Street, w. Vincent and then check out the Prohibition Bar on the top floor of the W Hotel (The Foshay Tower) for drinks with a view

Chino Latino is fun - I also really like the places around Nicollet Mall and 6th -10th (Local, Brits, NewsRoom). Swing by Chambers and check out the art - you could also go across the street to Solera while you are in the area.
I also heard Nicollet Island was nice. Also dont discount St. Paul - i havent spent much time there - but i hear there are some really romantic restaurants.
