I think the question currently is "Does Minnesota normally get this cold in the summer?" My weatherbug says that it is 58 right now. The weather has been all over the place lately. Seems sorta normal to me.

Obviously, the heat here plays a factor in why I might not like so many sunny days, but even in the spring and fall, I find myself really enjoying cloudy and/or rainy days. It gives you an excuse to do something inside. Work on a project, hobby, work on taxes, watch a movie, etc. I am also more productive at work. If it's sunny out, you feel like you should be out enjoying it. I think for me there is also something about a more subdued light that allows me to be more creative. I'm more apt to work on artistic things when the sun isn't out. It's like how music sounds better at night or with your eyes closed. Or when I listen to a radio program at night, I can get into the story more. There's just something about the lack of sunlight and cooler days that allows me to relax, not squint, breathe freely, and just feel invigorated. And it makes you look forward to the next sunny day.
I moved to MN from NOVA. I would much rather have the weather here than there. It is colder here, but it is usually a drier cold. It might get hot, but isn't the 3 month long hot and oppressive humidity that makes you feel like you are swimming through the air. Now we are moving to northern Alaska, so I think I might look back fondly at the "mild" Minnesota winters.

I will take the Minnesota weather any day. I love cold weather. I have a hard time tolerating the heat but its a short season.
