We're just stuck in a pattern where all the snowmakers keep going north or south of us. I know we need it for business and ecological reasons, but I'd be lying through my teeth if I said I missed it.

We got flurries today (first time in the whole year) but it never materialised to a proper snowfall. So sad. What a bummer.

How much did areas of NW lower Michigan average per winter, as I recall you stated you lived in that Snowbelt area before?

Yes, I lived in Petoskey for 7 years. They average around 120 inches of snow per winter. The last winter I was there (2013-14) they broke their all time record with over 220 inches. We had to pack a house and moving van amongst all that in late March of '14. It was something else. The areas south of Petoskey (Mancelona, Gaylord, Kalkaska) get even more snow.

You could take a vacation today to the Sierra passes where they are gonna get 6-9ft in a current storm.

Imagine that, 100 inches in one storm! When I lived in AK the ski resort I went to weekly (Alyeska) averaged 800-900 inches back in early 2000’s when I was there.

You sound content.

Well, I'm happy it will only be for a couple weeks as opposed to a month and a half.

Looks like you'll get your wish early next week.

The main problem I have with snow right now is that the ice hasn't melted. So when the snow comes and covers it, depending on how thick it is, you won't know where the slippery ice is located.
