Ely Harvest Moon Festival
Well, looks like I'm going to be able to make the Harvest Moon Festival this year, and that makes me HAPPY!
I'm riding my motorcycle up from central Illinois, mostly so I can afford the fuel, and will probably be traveling alone. Just gonna get some air.
I've been looking at the hotels and it's a little difficult to find anything under a hundred bucks! That's a lot of money for a poor boy just to lay his head down for three or four nights!
Anyone know of a lower rate in the Ely area? Bunk house? Hostel?!!? I'd gladly share a bothroom and a shower.

Check out the Westgate Motel. It has had reasonable rates in the past and decent (clean) rooms. My parents have stayed there numerous times, and we did once, too; plus my old place of employment recommends it to their customers. I don't think they have tvs, but who needs one? Call the Chamber of Commerce, too. They might be able to help. I know some outfitters have bunkrooms, but those are for customers who are going out on a trip.
Good luck! I like the Harvest Moon Festival--much more laid back than the Blueberry Arts Festival. Is the Blues Festival the same weekend?

Thank you for that info!
No, it's this month, 21-23.

The bad news is, I have been unable to contact them with either their regular or 1-800 number.

Could.
Maybe I could sleep with the Rendezvous re-enactors!

Hmm...try the Chamber and ask about it. Maybe they closed down? I wouldn't think so, but who knows--I wasn't able to make it before I moved. Tenting is definately the cheapest way to go, but bring a warm sleeping bag!

They changed their name and #! They are now the Canoe Inn.
I got a room at an outfitter for $38.00! Even has a tv and my own bath.
I'm set.
