There are plenty of other forums to debate the War Between the States. But I would counter with that the South didn't start a war. The north did when it unnessesarily invaded the South. Otherwise the seceeding states would have gone in peace. But anyway, again, there are only about a thousand and one other threads for that topic and debate. And in the end, it isn't settled anyway, because it involves two totally different outlooks and perspectives. As all wars usually do. Also, the vast majority of the soldiers on both sides, couldn't really have cared less about slavery one way or another.

Anyway, as to the main point of this topic, the fact is many do NOT know of the extent of northern involvement in slavery and the slave trade (this latter being something totally confined to the north). Not saying all do (as obviously some here are well aware of it), but there also quite a few who wrongly think of it as something uniquely Southern. That is all I am saying.

So what is your point?

It has been way past the time to move on with this subject.
