I am orginally from Michigan and due to the to say the least HORRIBLE economy I am here in South Florida (UGH) and I want to move back up North...what are the jobs like there? I am in the Office type of work right now but am looking to get into the Medical Field (eventually)... For my own sanity I HAVE to get out of Florida - it's NOT NICE!

Default school?

What is your education level, or planned education level? There are lots of jobs here in medical technology, but as with anywhere, the better jobs go to those with better education and experience.

I would guess that as far as medical services (hospitals, clinics, etc.), the market here is similar to or maybe a touch better than most places.

Specialities such as radiology (and all the technical jobs that go along with it) are hot everywhere right now.

What about Regular Office work suck as Executive Assistants, Office Managers, etc? That is what I do now and will continue to do that until I get Medical Training in.

There are plenty of firms here who would offer those types of jobs, but that is probably the case anywhere. Your best bet would be to sign on with a couple good quality temp agencies prior to moving here. They could find you some good temp assignments, which often lead to a permanent job if you are what that company is looking for.

Check out Thomson West in Eagan too. It's a HUGE legal publishing company that's been in Minnesota since the 1880s (when it was West Publishing). The Eagan office building holds about 5000+ people alone so I'm sure there would be openings in your area. They have a pretty comprehensive online jobs website at Thomson.com. Eagan is a surburb of St Paul but pretty easy to get to from either City.
